Now that the housing market is in the tank; many of us who hoped to be 'Moving Up' find ourselves looking at our existing homes as a re-investment. Remodeling your home will increase it's value in the long run and doing it with green minded materials and products is good for the environment and may actually save you money in the long run as well.
Not sure where to begin??? Try attending an event like this and ask questions.
Tip # 1 Mulch! Save hundreds of gallons a year by using organic mulch around plants to reduce evaporation. Tip # 2Kick the Can! Recycling aluminum and steel cans directs valuable metal into new products, saving 95 percent of the energy required to manufacture aluminum from scratch and 74 percent of the energy needed to make steel. The effect if everyone in the U.S. did it for one year: Equal to 3,934,118 cars taken off the road for one year. Tip #3 Read between the lines... Americans throw away more paper than any other kind of trash. Recycling the pounds of magazines and newspapers the average household accrues in a year not only saves trees but also reduces contributions to air pollution by 95 percent.

The Green Solutions Expo is the main source for everything green and
eco-friendly. New to the green moveme...
As a young profressional raising a new family in Mission Viejo, we have participated in many of the city sponsored events but rarely shop and hang out in Mission Viejo. With a strong interest in architecture, living green and traveling to interesting places, MYM.MV and MYM.GREEN were created to encourage other up-and-coming professionals to participate in discussion and becoming active in the local community to get their voice heard. The initiative is to encourage the agencies, developers, and existing property owners to invest in Mission Viejo by improving the quality of the public and shopping destinations within our community with quality design and in an eco-friendly way.
